Jamie Bell Joins Dewberry

New project manager brings wide industry experience

Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, announced that Jamie Bell has been hired as a project manager in the firm’s Lake City, Fla., office.

As a project manager, Bell is responsible for overseeing various water resources and site/civil engineering projects throughout North Central Florida. She is currently assisting with a storm water improvement project that is planned to alleviate flooding in Mayo, Fla.

Prior to joining the firm, Bell worked for the Suwannee River Water Management District (SRWMD), where she administered the annual Regional Initiative Valuing Environmental Resources (RIVER) Grant funding program and assisted local government entities with water supply and quality, flood protection, and natural resource restoration projects. She also managed complex water resources projects by preparing and executing contracts, and reviewing engineering design plans. Her experience also includes a large-scale water quality improvement project for the Ichetucknee Springshed.

Bell earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural and biological engineering with a concentration in land and water resources from the University of Florida (2013) and is currently working toward a master’s degree in environmental engineering, also from the University of Florida. She is a Florida Certified Contract Manager and secretary for Florida’s chapter of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. An active participant in numerous professional organizations, Bell is a member of the City of Gainesville Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (SHIP), City of Gainesville Board of Adjustment, Florida Floodplain Managers Assn. and the Project Management Institute.
