This issue of Storm Water Solutions (SWS) is a special one. As you might have noticed on the cover, this is the 15th anniversary issue of the magazine. Fifteen years ago, SWS started bringing you relevant industry news, and since then, we’ve worked to continue that mission. In fact, the first half of our mission statement reads as follows:
“Storm Water Solutions’ editorial mission is to provide unique, comprehensive content that covers timely news, storm water and erosion control industry trends, technical solutions and best practices. The editorial staff strives to provide a trusted business platform that effectively connects industry decision-makers and solution providers.”
The second half of our mission statement describes our readers, all of you. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to continue our charge. To all of you who have built relationships with us and been loyal readers over the past 15 years, thank you. We hope to keep your loyalty beyond the next 15 years.
In a few pages, you will find industry reflections on behalf of four industry associations; the Stormwater Equipment Manufacturers Association, International Erosion Control Association, Center for Watershed Protection and National Municipal Stormwater Alliance. Leaders from each of these associations shared their thoughts on how the industry has grown over the past 15 years and where they see it going in the next 15. All touched on a similar thought; storm water is young and has a ways to go. If we work together, we can get it where it needs to be.
I hope you’ll take the time to read these reflections, and please feel free to share your own thoughts with me. Having been in this position for just under a year, I still have a lot to learn and would love to gain other perspectives on where the industry is headed.
