WWEMA Annual Meeting to Focus on Taking Control of Uncertain Future

July 23, 2012
The conference is exclusive to WWEMA members and will explore trends in innovative water technologies, regulations impacting the global water treatment market and more

With budgets tightening for water and wastewater projects, the future is uncertain for many manufacturers. However, one thing is clear: The opportunities that do exist will be rewarded to those companies that best understand the marketplace, technological trends, funding mechanisms, customer needs and regulations affecting the industry. The Water and Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Assn. (WWEMA) will address each of those areas of concern at the WWEMA 104th Annual Meeting, “Why Gamble On the Future? Shape It!”

November 1-3 at the J.W. Marriott Resort and Spa, the conference is exclusive to WWEMA members and will explore such topics as:

  • Trends in Innovative Water Technologies. Joe Zuback, President, Global Water Advisors. As Seimens’ former chief water technology specialist, Joe Zuback is a passionate supporter of water technology innovation, reflected in many diverse water technology patents.  He will discuss what new technologies will impact the marketplace in the years ahead;
  • Regulations Impacting the Global Water Treatment MarketEric Meliton, Environmental Technologies Industry Analyst, Frost & Sullivan. Regulations both domestic and abroad will have a direct effect on treatment technology advances and their use at the utility level.  Eric Meliton will identify the major rules that have been enacted or are coming down the pike and their impact on future industry challenges;
  • Investing in Water. David Henderson, Managing Director, XPV Capital. Opportunities for growth in the industrial and municipal water and wastewater markets are attracting the attention of venture capitalists worldwide. David Henderson will provide unique insights into where these opportunities lie and the future demand for water technologies; and
  • Shaping the Customer Service Experience. Captain Denny Flanagan, Pilot, United Airlines. In an industry where customers have come to expect to be treated poorly, Capt. Denny Flanagan has shown that one person can make a difference. From personally delivering pizzas to passengers on delayed flights to taking photos of pets in the cargo hold to put their owners’ minds at ease, he has made it his mission to take customer service--and satisfaction--to new levels.

Additional highlights of the event will include networking lunches, breaks, receptions and dinners; the Annual WWEMA Golf Tournament; election of the Board of Directors; and a report on WWEMA’s latest advocacy efforts at the WWEMA Legislative/Regulatory Committee meeting.

The conference room rate at the luxurious J.W. Marriott Resort & Spa is just $144 per night. Reservations are now being accepted and can be made through the WWEMA website at www.wwema.org.
