Contech Reveals Detention System Design Program

Contech Engineered Solutions launched a new online program for designing storm water detention and infiltration systems. The new tool will allow engineers to quickly prepare designs for estimates and project meetings.
The new tool, known as Design Your Own Detention System (DYODS), fully automates the layout process for storm water detention and infiltration systems. The tool's incorporates a drag and drop feature to customize the layout to meet site-specific conditions and optimizes the design and layout for cost effectiveness. The tool also provides CAD and PDF files that can be used for creating plans and specs, and for estimating total installed costs. Users of the tool can design multiple systems per project, and save them for future use.
"Customers have told us they want more online design tools," said Tom Slabe, president of Contech's Storm Water Solutions. "Our new design tool provides engineers a flexible, on-demand tool that can significantly reduce the amount of time needed to design underground storm water management systems."
The tool joins Contech's other online storm water tools including the Low Impact Development Site Planner, the Rainwater Harvesting Runoff Reduction Calculator and the Design Your Own Hydrodynamic Separator.
