Leading up to the official start of construction, Oldcastle Infrastructure manufactured custom framework for the project, supplying over 7,300 feet of box culvert pieces ranging in size from 8 feet by 8 feet, 10 feet by 7 feet, 10 feet by 5 feet, and 6 feet by 5 feet. In addition, the project will consist of storm structures, sanitary structures, and other special project structures to better equip neighboring buildings and homes to reduce current frequent flooding issues. Once construction is complete, the overhaul will provide enhanced safety for pedestrians and vehicles.

A new 36-inch water transmission main will be constructed in order to better direct the underground transportation of water. In return, residents can anticipate reduced flooding in both residential and commercial areas of W. Cass Street, N. Rome Avenue, and W. Gray Street, as well as surrounding areas. The construction is expected to be completed in mid-2021, weather permitting.
