Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans Gains Visibility of Drivers and Fleet with MotionLink

March 9, 2015

Atlanta, GA, February 24, 2015 — MotionLink, a leading provider of comprehensive vehicle and mobile resource technology solutions for the public sector, announced today that the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) has gained visibility over its entire fleet with the implementation of MotionLink’s  vehicle and  driver solutions.

It was important for SWBNO to implement a solution that would assist in managing 600 plus drivers that could potentially drive and operate one of over 500 vehicles and off-road equipment in the SWBNO fleet on any given day to perform mission critical tasks. MotionLink has worked with SWBNO to outfit each vehicle in the fleet with an automatic vehicle location device for real-time GPS data installed with a small reader tied to the vehicles ignition. Drivers are provided with a key fob that must be presented to the vehicle’s reader in order to start the vehicle. This allows SWBNO to not only have visibility into real-time and historical vehicle location but also ensure driver accountability by associating drivers to the appropriate vehicles and equipment.

“The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans has been in need of a solution that provides us the ability to better manage our fleet and those who operate the equipment. MotionLink provides us the tools and visibility needed to ensure our teams’ efficiency, safety and accountability,” noted John Wilson, Director of Support Services for SWBNO.

“MotionLink is excited  o  artner with the Sewerage and Water Board  of New  Orleans  on  this  project, and deliver insight into their  operations,” commented Melissa Vidakovic, Director of Marketing for MotionLink. “We  look  forward to  their  continued  success and  supporting  he  organization’s  future goals.”
