LAI has also been the Chief Engineer for a number of public-private partnerships for 25 MGD municipal water and 16 MGD wastewater treatment facilities. Mr. Pio Lombardo, President of LAI, was the author of the 1st version of the US EPA water quality model HSPF which is widely used for Total Maximum Daily Load determinations to achieve water quality standards since 1970s. Pio was chair and vice-chair of the national Water Environment Federation Small Community Committee from 2000 — 2005.
