HaloKlear DPS technology added to erosion and sediment control Designer and Reviewer Manual

HaloSource Inc.’s HaloKlear Dual Polymer System (DPS) technology has been added to the latest version of the Florida Designer and Reviewer Manual for erosion and sediment control. The DPS technology is now recognized as an accepted BMP product for construction and industrial water treatment and is the only all-natural, fully biodegradable polymer to be included in the state’s manual and accepted for use on projects across the state.

HaloKlear’s DPS technology underwent extensive toxicity testing and site performance reviews at the University of Central Florida’s Stormwater Academy. The inclusion in the manual recognizes the biopolymer technology as an environmentally safe and effective solution to clear turbid water in construction project applications.

Commented HaloSource’s Timothy Joyce, VP and GM for the Americas, “The state of Florida’s concern and tangible action in addressing the effects of treatment chemicals on local fish and fauna combined with stringent regulations in this arena provides clear leadership in influencing standards for other states in their approach to construction water remediation and we are proud to be able to lead the way in this enormously important segment.”

Mitch Stocki, HaloKlear’s technical sales manager based in Florida commented, “Inclusion in the Florida Manual is a significant milestone and builds on the recent addition of DPS technology as a Florida DOT Pay Item. These accomplishments underscore the unique value our scientific innovation brings to this critical field of use and proves that a highly effective, “green” chemistry can compete with commodity chemicals. HaloKlear DPS has a proven track record of success across the US and in countries where storm water discharge is strictly regulated with Florida now able to benefit from this groundbreaking technology.”
