California-Nevada Section of AWWA Reaccredited as Continuing Education Provider
The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) has awarded reaccreditation status to the California-Nevada Section of the American Water Works Association (CA-NV AWWA). IACET Authorized Providers are the only organizations approved to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The accreditation period extends for five years, and includes all programs offered or created during that time.
“Our educational mission is to make technical education accessible to everyone in the drinking water profession, and we are extremely proud to continue our efforts in providing a top notch, highly relevant water curriculum,” stated Tim Worley, Ph.D., Executive Director of the CA-NV AWWA.
“We are pleased to continue our relationship with the CA-NV AWWA as an Authorized Provider,” said Francenia Johnson, president of IACET and supervisor of operations and measurements at Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division (MLGW) in Memphis, Tenn. Johnson added, “The CA-NV AWWA joins nearly 650 organizations around the globe that have had their programs vetted by third-party experts in continuing education to ensure the highest possible standards are met.”
In order to achieve Authorized Provider accreditation, the CA-NV AWWA completed a rigorous application process, including a review by an IACET site visitor, and successfully demonstrated adherence to the ANSI/IACET 1-2007 Standard addressing the design, development, administration, and evaluation of its programs. The CA-NV AWWA has pledged its continued compliance with the standard, and is now authorized to use the IACET name and Authorized Provider logo on promotional course material. In addition, the CA-NV AWWA is now linked to the IACET web site and is recognized as offering the highest quality continuing education and training programs.
Additionally, in an effort to keep up with budget constraints, members’ needs and technological advancements, the CA-NV AWWA developed H2O KNOW Online Training. This computer-based tool offers a convenient platform where members can instantly access various educational offerings and classes, 24 hours, 7 days a week, that are cost effective, content-rich, easy to use, and IACET approved.
