WWEMA to Offer Training on Contract Terms, Negotiations

"Positioning Yourself for the WIN!" to feature presentations and moderated discussions

The Water and Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Assn.’s Finance and Contract Administration Council will present, “Positioning Yourself for the WIN!” Sept. 12 to 13 in Indianapolis.

The event will kick off with two hours of “Negotiation Skills Training” presented by attorney and experienced trainer Alan Fishel of the Washington, D.C., law firm Arent Fox. Fishel will share proven techniques for drafting and negotiating favorable contracts. Attendees also will take part in a three-hour moderated discussion of the “Top 5 Killer Contract Terms.” This highly interactive session will offer an opportunity to share real-world experiences negotiating terms relating to limitations of liability, consequential damages, warranties and performance guarantees, payment terms and retainage and indemnity clauses.

Additional sessions will examine:

  • Insurance and Indemnity
  • Surety Bonds
  • ConsensusDocs

Each presentation will allow time for attendees to ask questions and share their own thoughts and experiences. In addition, the event includes a networking lunch, dinner and breaks.
