Overnight, Hurricane Nicole made landfall on Florida's eastern shore, becoming the first hurricane to hit the U.S. in November in nearly 40 years. Shortly after making landfall, Nicole weakened to a tropical storm. The hurricane hit at a time when many areas of Florida are still recovering from Hurricane Ian. Speaking of, in this week's newsletter, we're sharing a press release from FEMA regarding federal funding in the wake of Hurricane Ian. To date, more than $1.93 billion in federal grants, disaster loans and flood insurance payments has been provided to the state of Florida and households. Read below for more details on the funding.
