Aquascape Hosts Extreme Pond Build Event

July gathering to offer pond installation training

Construction of Aquascape’s 250-by-90-ft signature water feature is now underway in preparation for the “World’s Most Extreme Pond Build,” hosted by Aquascape Inc. from July 12 to 16. The training event occurs at Aqualand, the company’s corporate headquarters, and is open to a select group that includes certified Aquascape contractors, Water Garden Excellence members and authorized AquascapePRO distributors.

Construction materials totaling more than $200,000 have been donated to the World’s Most Extreme Pond Build. Companies donating to this one-time-only event currently include Carlisle SynTec Inc., Carlisle, Penn.; Ero-Tex, Menomonee Falls, Wis.; Toro, Bloomington, Minn.; Caterpillar Inc., Peoria, Ill.; Unilock, Aurora, Ill.; Plasticraft Corp., Darien, Wis.; Tour Links, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Kichler Lighting, Cleveland; Moering, Roosendaal, Netherlands; Tsurumi, Glendale Heights, Ill.; Kloubec’s Koi Farm, Amana, Iowa; Ball Horticulture, West Chicago, Ill.; Semco Outdoor, Belton, Mo., DemTech, Diamond Springs, Calif.; Aqua Control, Spring Valley, Ill.; Hancor, Findlay, Ohio; NIBCO Inc., Elkhart, Ind.; Convenience Products, Glendale Heights, Ill.; Midwest Trading, Virgil, Ill.; Midwest Groundcovers, St. Charles, Ill.; and Wasco Nursery, St. Charles, Ill.

“We completed some of the basic construction so we can focus on the advanced installation techniques and methods that our customers desire during the event in July,” said Ed Beaulieu, chief sustainability officer at Aquascape. “We’re videotaping the construction process and posting the clips to our website so contractors can stay up to date on the project’s progress.”
