Pressure Systems Introduces KPSI Series 340 Transducer

Updated transducer is five times quieter than previous models

Pressure Systems, a manufacturer of precision level and pressure instrumentation for environmental water usage and water resource applications, has reduced the noise of its KPSI Series 340 ASIC-based small bore submersible level transducers by five times. By using an improved signal amplifier on the transducer circuit board, the signal output is much quieter, creating fewer errors when retrieving data and significantly increasing data reliability.

The improved series offers custom level ranges up to 230 ft (70 meters) H2O and an accuracy of up to +0.25% FS total error band over the complete operating temperature range of -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F). In addition, the series features analog outputs of 4-20mA, 0-5 VDC or mV.

According to Pressure Systems, the Series 340 level transducers are ideal for remote environmental water monitoring applications, where small changes in liquid levels are critical, such as surface water, groundwater and down-hole monitoring. Their high accuracy makes the KPSI Series 340 transducers suitable for use in tank level measuring applications, including above ground, underground and elevated storage tanks.

With welded 316 SS or titanium construction and an optional chemical-resistant ETFE cable jacket, the KPSI Series 340 features a rugged, waterproof design. Its specially designed, highly accurate pressure sensor can withstand harsh environments that contain hostile fluids and gases.

The updated KPSI Series 340 includes Pressure Systems' SuperDry Long Life Vent Filter, which prevents moisture from entering the vent tube for at least one year without maintenance.

The cable, available in custom lengths, includes Kevlar members to prevent errors due to cable elongation and offers a unique water-block feature that self-seals the cable in case of an accidental cut.

The KPSI Series 340 is CE compliant to EN 61000-6-4:2001 and EN 61000-6-2:2001 and has an IP 68 and a NEMA 6P housing protection rating.
