The purchase complements WesTech’s ability to offer the water industry the service and products it needs

WesTech Engineering Inc. signed an agreement with Siemens Industry Inc. to purchase the conventional water treatment business that includes the Microfloc and General Filter product portfolios.

The purchase strategically complements WesTech’s ability to offer the water industry the service and products it needs to meet increasingly stringent treatment requirements and growing demand for clean water.

“This is an important strategic acquisition for WesTech,” said WesTech President Rex Plaizier. “They have extensive installations throughout the United States, a strong reputation, and their product lines complement WesTech’s own in a way that provides the water industry the most comprehensive solution to its water treatment needs.”

The agreement includes all active projects, associated assets and liabilities, inventory, and associated patents and trademarks, as well as the facility in Ames, Iowa. Sixty-two active employees dedicated to this business will join WesTech.

“The Microfloc and General Filter product lines are solid businesses with excellent employees, a rich history, and strong brand recognition,” said Dr. Lukas Loeffler, CEO Water Technologies, Siemens Industry Automation Division. “But these products are not a fit with our focus on portfolio differentiation, which is a key driver of our business overall.”
