Brown & Caldwell expands and WWEMA elects new chairman

Brown & Caldwell Opens New Office

Brown and Caldwell opened a new, permanent office in the Metro Vancouver area to better serve clients in the region’s municipal and private water and wastewater sector. The new office is located at Metrotower I, 4710 Kingsway, Burnaby.

Brown and Caldwell’s history in the Lower Mainland dates back more than 60 years, including the development of Vancouver’s original sewerage plan, the Rawn Report, in 1953. In the decades since, the firm has delivered planning and engineering services on many of Vancouver’s most complex wastewater challenges. Projects include the design of the original Lions Gate Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and the Iona Island WWTP, in addition to numerous upgrades at the Annacis Island and Lulu Island WWTPs.

WWEMA Announces New Chairman

The Board of Directors of the Water and Wastewater Equipment Manufacturer's Assn. (WWEMA) has elected John Dyson to assume the position of chairman for its 2019 to 2020 term. Dyson has been involved with WWEMA for more than 24 years. During this time, he has represented WWEMA at U.S. EPA, American Water Works Assn. and Water Environment Federation meetings, as well as participated in various WWEMA committees. His role as Chairman includes serving on the Strategic Planning and Executive committees and providing leadership to the organization. John’s knowledge and expertise in the industry will continue to complement the association's mission and meeting its future goals.

Stantec Expands Florida Team

Stantec welcomed three new strategic hires to its Florida water team in Tampa, Sarasota and Jacksonville. Tina Nixon joins the Tampa office as senior civil engineer with 28 years of extensive design, management, construction and commissioning experience in civil, mechanical, and environmental engineering. Bruce A. Mowry joins Stantec’s Jacksonville office as senior civil engineer with 40 years of experience in program management, operations and management of public water agencies/cities, water code implementation, groundwater replenishment, seawater intrusion, and management of financial policies for organizations internationally and in the US. Richard E. Cowles joins Stantec’s Sarasota office as senior hydrogeologist with more than 25 years of project management experience across a range of environmental and construction projects.

Porous Pave Names New Vice President

Porous Pave Inc. announced the appointment of Matt R. Lamb as vice president, sales and marketing. Before joining Porous Pave, Lamb was the sales director of The Bernard Group where he consistently generated double digit growth. His prior experience includes more than 25 years with 3M. Lamb will continue to reside in the Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn. area.
