Selby’s Soil Erosion Control purchased Apex Curb & Turf LLC for approximately $2 million, according to the news release.
“We had hit our potential for the market in Northern California,” said Selby to the Business Journal. “This seemed like a good way to ramp-up our operations. We see a lot of business opportunity in the Pacific Northwest. It seems like everyone from California is moving up there.”
The combined company will be known as SSEC APEX Inc., and will be headquartered in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. All current offices of both companies will continue to serve their existing regions, adding new services in additional locations. SSEC provides erosion control services for public and private projects, working with developers, government agencies and contractors.
NASCAR, Elgin Sweeper Renew NASCAR Green Partnership
NASCAR and Elgin Sweeper announced a multi-year partnership renewal.
“Considering our dealers’ dedication to – and passion for – NASCAR Green’s goal of protecting the environment through sustainable practices, and our own involvement in the NASCAR culture for more than a decade, it was a logical progression to renew our partnership,” said Mike Higgins, vice president and general manager of Elgin Sweeper. “We are immensely proud of the fact that NASCAR continues to rely on Elgin Sweeper to be present at the tracks every race season to shorten rain delays and cautionary events.”
Elgin Sweeper’s Shared Power technology, the EcoInfused platform, diverts the formerly wasted energy from the sweeper’s chassis engine back to the power of the sweeper itself, which helps reduce the carbon footprint during NASCAR Cup Series race weekends.
