Adjusting rings, or extension rings, are used to raise a manhole cover so it is flush with a resurfaced roadway. Adjusting rings can reduce raising costs to as little as 20 percent of digging up the old manhole frame and resetting it to new grade. The adjusting rings can be replaced rapidly and are a permanent installation.
