Adjusting rings, sometimes called extension rings, are used to raise a manhole cover so that it is flush with a resurfaced roadway. Adjusting rings can reduce raising costs to as little as 20% of digging up the old manhole frame and resetting it to new grade. The adjusting rings can be replaced rapidly and are a permanent installation.
